Nature Nostalgia - A collection of oral histories
This captivating collection of oral histories emerged from a transformative 13-week project blending movement, music, nature art, and reminiscence. Participants aged 60 to 101 shared their experiences during sessions held in the serene grounds of Delapre Abbey and across 10 Northamptonshire Care Homes and Retirement Villages. These narratives are vivid recollections of nature, drawn from their childhoods and other treasured moments throughout their rich and diverse lives.
The final poem was co-created by participants and is their reflections on how they were feeling at the end of each session using nature as a metaphor. It says so much about what this project has meant and how it has served as a tool to reconnect participants to the natural world.
